Q:  Is therapy for me?

A:   If you’re feeling stuck, lost or confused, therapy can help.  Maybe you are lacking in motivation, drive or direction.  This may impact your sense of self, your work, your relationships with others.  Psychotherapy is used to help people solve problems, achieve goals, and better manage their lives.  As you find yourself, you become a better person and feel more fulfilled in life.

Q:  How can therapy help me?

A:  Psychotherapy has been shown to have benefits for people who go through it.  As you talk about your thoughts and feelings, you understand them better, and this leads to change.  You learn how to cope with feelings and how to change behaviors.  Therapy often leads to better relationships, solutions to specific problems, and significant reductions in feelings of distress.   You gain insight, and you know yourself better.

Q:  What should I expect at the first session?

A:  Our first few sessions will involve an evaluation of your needs.  During this time, we can both decide if I am the best person to provide the services you need.  By the end of the evaluation, I will be able to offer you some first impressions of what our work will include. 

I provide a space that is warm, supportive and non-judgmental.  I see myself as your partner and guide.
